Meet Oral Surgeon
Scott Barber, DDS

Dr. Barber was born and raised outside of New York City and later moved to California during high school. He attended the University of California, Davis, where his interest in science and physiology developed and led him to pursue dentistry. He earned his dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Barber completed an internship year at UCLA before finishing his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Missouri–Kansas City in 2008. His training prepared him for the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical care.

Clinical Experience & Appointments

Dr. Barber has more than ten years of experience in private practice and previously owned and operated two practices in San Diego. He has also served as an attending surgeon and Associate Clinical Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program in Kansas City.

He holds hospital appointments at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Truman Medical Center, and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Board Certification & Clinical Interests

Dr. Barber is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with extensive experience in both private practice and clinical education. His professional interests include oral pathology, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, bone grafting, and pre-prosthetic surgery.

Outside the Office

Outside of his practice, Dr. Barber enjoys maintaining coral reef aquariums and exploring his passion for pastry cooking. He is also an avid marathon runner and triathlete. Above all, he values time with his family and enjoys being a husband and father, often spending time with his two young children playing Minecraft.
