During your initial appointment, your oral surgeon will discuss your diagnosis and treatment options, and offer plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions. Often, surgery can be performed on the same day as the consultation, though more complex cases might require additional testing or follow-up evaluations.

One way you can ensure a smooth consultation is to provide us with the following information:

  • Your surgical referral slip, along with any x-rays (if applicable).
  • A current list of any medications you take.
  • Completed forms related to your medical or dental insurance.

Additionally, let us know in advance of your appointment if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery. Common examples include diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.

IMPORTANT: Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the consultation.

Our practice requires a preoperative consultation and physical examination for patients who wish to have surgery using IV anesthesia. This appointment is essential for us to keep our patients safe.

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has previously taken X-rays, you may have them forwarded to our office. Alternatively, you may pick them up in person and bring them to our office. If additional images are necessary, we can take care of them at our facility.
